A referral network that runs where the relationship already is

Vouched is a referral-only recruitment platform. Some of the people who make it work log into the portal. The ones who never would now get the same thing in WhatsApp.

The problem

Vouched connects companies to passive talent through the networks of people who already know them. They only get paid when a referral is placed.

That makes the referral network the product, and the network is made of people who do not work there. A Voucher is someone with a good contact and thirty seconds of goodwill. The committed ones will sign into a portal and keep coming back to it. Ask the casual ones for a login, a download or a saved password and you have lost them before they type a name.

The candidates at the other end are just as hard to reach. Passive by definition, not on job boards, and not about to open an account for a job they were not looking for.

Vouched runs its back office in Airtable and wanted a front door onto it that a casual participant would actually walk through, in the app the relationship already lives in.

How it was built

Three WhatsApp Flows, built on Paige. The roles and the people stay in Airtable, where Vouched already works, so the bot was built on top of that rather than beside it. Green Pages connects Airtable over OAuth, so nobody at Vouched ever handled an API key.

The bot knows who it is talking to. A Voucher is welcomed back by name and taken straight to the open roles. Anyone else is offered the short sign-up that makes them one.

The roles are live. A fixed list would need rebuilding every time a role opened or closed, so the flow reads them from Airtable at the moment a Voucher asks. Open one and you get the company, the work, the profile they are after and the finder’s fee.

Referring someone takes a name, a number and how the Voucher knows them. It lands back in the Vouched back office as a referral and as a new candidate, with a copy kept alongside it so a slow third party can never cost anyone a referral.

What was built

The Voucher side is live on Vouched’s own WhatsApp Business number. Browse open roles, refer a candidate, sign up as a Voucher, all inside WhatsApp.

Vouched keeps the back office it already runs. Nothing moved and nothing has to be kept in sync by hand. The roles a Voucher sees are the roles the team is actually recruiting for, and a referral lands straight back where the team already works.

The portal stays where it is for the Vouchers who use it. Everyone else now has a second front door, with nothing to install and nothing to remember. Reaching the ones who were never going to log in was the constraint the whole thing was designed around.
